And sustainability is vital. We are bringing you essential dog products to make life with your furry friends run a little smoother, while being mindful of our environmental impact. 
It all started in 2004 in a small beach town on the East Coast with a sad, neglected Hound Dog whose floppy ears and big droopy eyes melted my soul onto the hard concrete floor of the shelter. In short, Winston Bones ruled my heart for the next sixteen years. He traveled from coast to coast and finally settled in sunny Santa Barbara. He was a wild man, a free-spirit, and my best friend. It is because of him that rescue became our life, and fostering the new normal. This brand is dedicated to him and his beautiful, wild memory. Canine Connect is our first product to hit the shelves, and we couldn't rescue without it.

 

Our primary purpose for this product is to interrupt reactivity- whether it is aggressive behavior, leash reactivity or barrier "excitement." The sudden spray in front of their line of vision (not directly in their face) combined with the undesirable scent of citronella works to break their focus pre-reaction, (be it lunging or barking). The handler is then able to guide the dog’s attention back to them and reward them for good behavior. We find it essential for pushy dogs with no knowledge of threshold boundaries, looking to sneak out of the door/car door or gate. Teaching a dog not to rush the threshold is of the utmost importance! Our spray goes a long way in providing safe and healthy boundaries. It is a clear communication that gets the point across quickly and easily. Spray it, don't say it!

 

Our dog line supports our rescue life in a magnitude of ways. 1% of all sales will go directly to the Santa Barbara Foundation's Animal Rescue Fund, which provides financial assistance to medical and behavioral needs dogs in the community, as well as rescue support for abandoned, in-need homeless dogs throughout the south and central coast of California. As we grow, so will our support.
